1. Why is she being given such attention?
2. Why is she famous?
3. Is her death really "BREAKING NEWS"?
4. If she truly was a Superstar, what did she do that was so noteworthy?
5. Does anyone really care who the father of her daughter is?

I mean...c'mon people!  This is the biggest NON-NEWS STORY I have ever heard of.  It us right up there with giving Hollywood couples cutsie nicknames like "TomKat" or "Bangelina".  Is our collective psyche as a nation REALLY that shallow?  Is this REALLY today's TOP STORY?  I certainly hope not!  I feel sorry for the "loved ones" of Ms. Smith, but for crying out loud....can the news guys PLEASE cover something else like terrorist sleeper cells, the impending attacks on Iran, etc.  Anything would be more suitable (and appropriate) than this story and the vultures trying to improve thier "ratings" off of her death.

DISCLAIMER-  All of my post are OPINIONS!  I do not spend hours researching things just to give my opinion.  On the other hand, If I am "debunking" or otherwise "disputing" a subject...I will give facts and figures to back my side up!  "Opinions" are a dime a dozen whether acurate or inaccurate.

 

OUR CURRENT POLITICAL LANDSCAPE

The political landscape these past 8 years have been pretty shrill.  Pre-"9/11" rhetoric was summarized in these ways...

The Democrats were ripped off by "W" and Karl Rove.  The 2000 Election was "stolen" and The Bush Presidency was ill-legitimate!  After "9/11"....(except for the month of patriotic songs on the steps of the capitol) the message was Bush is a war-monger, our civil liberties are in danger due to the Patriot Act and Haliburton is making 268 GAZILLION DOLLARS off of the war.  Oh, and Bush lied about WMD's.

The Republicans have insisted that we are a heartbeat away from a nuke going off and the Democrats are "soft" on National defense.  Every election since 9/11 ...The WAR ON TERROR card has been trotted out, without fail.  The Republicans say the Democrats are only interested in bigger government, raising taxes and the like!  The Republicans champion "family values" and Liberty, while gleefully pointing out the "hypocrisy of the Left".

My political leanings are "center-right".  I am a Christian Conservative who believes the "Leave it to Beaver" era was probably America's finest time.  With that being said, the "civil rights" movement was long overdue and the racist heritage of some geographical areas of our nation needed reformation!  I am wise enough to know that life is NOT black and white.  Some issues are complex and need careful consideration.  I think most people agree on that.  Today's pundits are pretty much for "entertainment" purposes only.  i do enjoy conservative talk radio, but I also know when I am being fed a bunch of propaganda as well.  One thing for sure...whether you be a closet communist or a militia commanding right winger......we can agree that ALL of the politicitiansplay to thier base come campaign time!  It is sooooo transparent that it has become laughable!  In future entries I will elaborate more on the "issues'.  2008 is not that far away and I leave you with one question for now....HOW TRULY DIFFERENT ARE THE 2 CANDIDATES (regardless of who secures which parties nomination) GOING TO BE ON THE ISSUES THAT AFFECT YOU!!
